Rape of the Locke, Aubrey Beardsley
Aubrey Vincent Beardsley (August 21, 1872 – March 16, 1898) was an influential English illustrator, and author, best known for his erotic illustrations.
He also worked as a carticaturist and did some irreverent political cartoons.
A friend of Oscar Wilde, Beardsley's fairy tale works include illustrations for Wilde's loosely influenced Salome and a deluxe edition of Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur.
He died of tuberculosis in 1898.
