Dulac, Cinderalla & The Fairy Godmother

Edmund Dulac (born Edmond Dulac, October 22, 1882 – May 25, 1953) was a French book illustrator prominent during the so called "Golden Age of Illustration" (the first quarter or so of the twentieth century). Starting his education in law, Dulac soon became bored and switched to art studies. His fairy tale illustrations are perhaps the most famous, and his fairy tale works include The Arabian Nights (1907), The Sleeping Beauty and Other Fairy Tales (1910, from which this illustration is take), and Stories From Hans Christian Andersen. Like Clarke, Dulac also illustrated an Edgar Allan Poe book, The Bells and Other Poems (1912).
